I tend to produce longhaired Munchkins. I just prefer it. And I love to produce those unique and rare colors, such as silvers, chocolates, blue eyed whites, smokes, and pointed bi-colors.  BUT, admittedly, I want the full package...a drop-dead gorgeous cat that has personality galore to go along with those cute short Munchkin legs.
I have been fortunate to have people show my cats over the years.  I did show early on in the Munchkin beginning - while they were trying to obtain championship status. Fortunately now, The International Cat Association has given them that Championship status and they are now shown with full acceptance.
Here are a few of the Creators top Show Winners.
Creators Hello Mr. Heartache of Dixiemunchkins (shown below)  is a chocolate lynx point longhaired male and is a Supreme Grand Champion. He was the 2003 Highest Scoring Longhaired Internationally in Championship status.
Creators Mr. Biggalow is a blue and white longhaired altered male and was the highest scoring Munchkin Internationally in 2007 in the Alter Class. He is owned by Sue Rivero.
Creators Frodo the Ringbearer of Klassykittens is a blue mink and white shorthaired Quad Grand Champion.
Creators To the Max is owned again by Sue Rivero. He is currently being shown as an alter and is a supreme grandchampion. He is an unusual silver seal lynx point w/white longhaired standard male...another lover boy out of Annie.
Creators Mr. Biggs is a high scoring Supreme Grand Champion international winner in the Alter Divison of TICA. He is a great example of what the Munchkin should look like.

Creators Lil Boy To the Max is following in his half-brother's(Mr. Biggs above) footsteps and is high scoring this year in Alter Class (owned by Sue).
First, you notice the short legs - both front and back. The body is muscled and fit weighing between 5-9  lbs. generally, males of course tend to weigh more than females. The tail is medium in length with some thickness to it. They eyes - an important element - are large and walnut shaped. The nose has some length without being wedgy - a look of their domestic heritage.  The hair can be shorthaired or longhaired - and the colors are of endless possibilities.
With the short legs, the Munchkins have a trait where they tend to sit back on their hinds legs in a sitting up position - like a squirrel or rabbit would. When something catches their eye out the window or they are playing with a feathery wand - they will so quickly set up and peer about - it is adorable.
In any given litter, Munchkins will produce some shortlegged kittens (we call them "standards") and some long-legged kittens (when I say long, it is actually a regular length of a typical cat, but these long-legged kittens are referred to as non-standards).  Obviously, most of the customers are interested in the short legs of the standard, but the long-legged littermates are as beautiful and loving as their shortlegged counterparts (and much cheaper). People will often buy a longlegged littermate to give company to their shortlegged kitten purchase. Others will buy the longleggeds because of the lessened expense plus they know that all of these kittens were raised underfoot with lots of love and care which ultimately is what people are wanting.
